Kalma Café ‘Õige Koht’
The cosy café is located next to the Mustvee-Jõhvi highway, in the immediate vicinity of Lake Peipus. The menu mostly consists of local goods – fish from Lake Peipus – but also features other dishes. Our raw ingredients are seasonal and fresh. You can also organise events here: birthdays, wakes, thematic parties, and catering for groups.
Tammeluha hiking trail
The 11 points of the hiking trail introduce the surrounding lakes, lake floodplains (which are rather rare in Estonia) and their biota, the higher area Pedassaar, located between the flood plains, and the forest communities and the mighty Emamänd pine tree. You can get to Pedassaare via a 0.6 km boardwalk built from the wood of a larch from Siberia. There are lovely campfire sites (Tammeluha and Jõemõisa) and resting places with a roof on the hiking trail.
RMK Jõemõisa hiking trail
RMK Jõemõisa hiking trail is located in the RMK Tartu-Jõgeda Recreation Area. The hiking trail starts from the Jõemõisa campfire site and runs for 0.5 km. The trail takes you through the forest and is suitable for a nice walk. RMK Lake Endla hiking trail
The Lake Endla hiking trail starts at the information board located in Kärde village and ends at Tooma by the Centre of Endla Nature Reserve. It takes an average of 3-4 hours to walk the trail. Before reaching Tooma, the trail joins the Männikjärve bog study trail. The trail takes you through the forest and bog on boardwalks, thus the change of landscape is versatile and interesting. The Wood Shop’s breadmaster will guide you through the process of the perfect bread dough, and show you all the good ingredients and the secret components to a well risen dough and delicious taste. Weaving Chipwood Baskets in the Avinurme Wooden Handicrafts Center
Weaving a chipwood basket is the most popular attraction in the wooden handicraft centre and if there's a place in Estonia where this craft is known, it's Avinurme. Everyone can learn the basics of weaving a basket in the workshop with the help of an instructor: you pick out chipwood, weave a berry basket from the chips and finally apply a finish. We will prepare a tasty lunch, introduce the lore related to wood and the forest, and have fun in the workshop together. Apteekri puhvet (Pharmacist’s buffet)
Apteekri puhvet (Pharmacist’s buffet) prepares delicious homely dishes from local raw ingredients and bread made with leaven. The buffet is located in an old pharmacy, the interior of which has been kept as similar to the original as possible. The buffet is a perfect venue for birthdays, wakes, and other exciting theme events. We serve both groups and walk-in guests. We also make confectionery products upon order. Good to know: we also organise workshops (bread workshop, candle-making workshop, felting workshop, etc.).
