Avinurme Handicrafts Centre’s Café

The smell of freshly baked bread blends with the smell of wood creating an especially cosy and homelike atmosphere in the Handicrafts Centre's Café. Almost all the visitors praise the delicious coffee and charming interior of the Handicrafts Centre. Every traveller will get a bellyful and by previous agreement, we also offer refreshments to larger groups. The café's lunch menu includes soups and different main courses, also pizzas. W Café

We are located in WPark - Põltsamaa wakepark and we offer delicious dishes for every taste. Both WPark guest and people from the surrounding area are welcome. In our menu you can find fries, burgers, steaks, soups, daily specials, and more. The menu also includes pastries, cakes, coffee and cocktails.  Lively concerts and parties take place on the café's terrace in wonderful summer evenings. During the off-season, we offer a catering service and room rental with a sauna.  We offer breakfast porridge in the café, Mon-Fri at 9:30-11:30. Daily specials are available Mon-Fri from 12:00.

Exhibition “Samovars and Old Believers”

The exhibition's collection contains more than 50 samovars from various eras, countries, with different shapes and heating methods. The oldest samovar dates back to 1810. Samovars are accompanied by a multitude of tea glass holders (more than a hundred pieces). Photos of Russian Old Believers illustrate the walls. The exhibition also contains traditional items of the Old Believers, such as tea time and everything it entails, clothing, furniture, church equipment, icons, iconostasis, lampada, lestovkas, podrusniks, etc. You can also buy souvenirs, handicrafts and novelty products by the brand Varvara Gourmet.

Kalevipoeg’s Museum

The Kalevipoeg Museum represents one of the 21 places, marked with a National Geographic's yellow window, that are worth exploring in Southern Estonia. The museum is named after Estonian national epic "Kalevipoeg" because the Kääpa River is where the sword of Kalevipoeg is located, and around it are resting places, rocks, springs, swamps, and furrows. In Kalevipoeg Museum, you get a good overview of the Estonian national epic. Põltsamaa Adventure Park

Põltsamaa Adventure Park is located in WPark, a summer mecca that offers active holidays, adventure, and fun water sports. Our adventure park is built on 9-metre-high pillars, which makes it one of the most unique adventure parks in Estonia. Climbing is done floor by floor, and each new level brings more excitement and challenges. This cafe, situated in the heart of Põltsamaa, provides catering to up to 100 people (with group menus available). Daily soups and specials are also offered. Live music evenings are held here from time to time, and in the summer you can enjoy the fine weather on the terrace, which seats up to 30.

Katre Arula`s Handicraft Workshop

Katre Arula`s Handicraft Workshop, where you will find crafter Katre Arula, is located in the courtyard of Põltsamaa Castle. In the workshop's store, you will find high-quality unique original creations and genuine Estonian handicraft items picked personally by Katre. The selection includes: clothes, bags, scarves, belts, gloves, jewellery, candles, ceramics, household textiles and small sweet knick-knacks. Groups can book an introduction of Katre's creation and work. She will demonstrate the items and explain their origin. She also makes custom-made items according to the client's specification. It is possible to book workshops.

Hunting Lodge Trofee

Põltsamaa Castle

The stone fortress was constructed on the banks of the Põltsamaa River already in 1272. Later on (1570–1578) the fortress was the residence of Livonia's King Magnus. Repeatedly pillaged, the castle was rebuilt by Woldemar Johann von Lauw. In the 18th century the fortress became a grand rococo-style palace. The castle and the church burnt down in 1941. Only the church was restored in 1952. The castle remained in ruins, waiting for its time. The complex is open again from the summer of 2023.
