Avinurme Woodworking Centre
Avinurme Woodworking Centre is a tourism centre which is home to local craftsmen. It offers the widest selection of woodwork products in Estonia, including dozens of sauna and household items. You can even put your own skills to the test! The centre organises a variety of workshops, from basket-weaving and felting to bread-making, candle-making, painting and more. The cosy coffee shop offers home-made cakes and pastries, fresh bread and other treats. Arranged in advance, it can provide catering for groups of up to 80 people.
Seminar rooms at the Village Elder Carl Schmidt’s House
Village Elder Carl Schmidt's House has two rooms for seminars and other meetings. The hall on the first floor accommodates 100 people and there's also a bar. The cozy fireplace hall on the second floor accommodates 26 people.
Kuremaa Swimming Pool and mini-SPA
Kuremaa Swimming Pool and mini-SPA is open seasonally and there are three swimming pools: a 25-metre with four lanes, a children’s pool, and a pool with different attractions in the SPA. In addition to swimming, you can go to a Finnish, family, and private sauna (in the pool section) or a salt, Finnish, and steam sauna (in the SPA). There is also a solarium, a beauty and massage salon, a gym, indoor court for ball games, a cafe, and a seminar room. Accommodation is available in the building next to us.
Kalevipoeg’s Home
Kalevipoeg's Home consists of the Kalevipoeg Museum, Kalevipoeg's Adventure Park, Kalevipoeg's Playground, and Saare Community Centre. The Kalevipoeg Museum provides an excellent overview of the Estonian national epic "Kalevipoeg". In the Kalevipoeg's Adventure Park, you can choose between lower or higher adventure trails and challenge yourself between the ground and the sky. Those who wish can also play discgolf. Kalevipoeg's Playground is a large fenced area, where you can find tools in the size fit for Kalevipoeg. Birthdays can also be celebrated here. Events can be organised in the Community Centre. Weaving Chipwood Baskets in the Avinurme Wooden Handicrafts Center
Weaving a chipwood basket is the most popular attraction in the wooden handicraft centre and if there's a place in Estonia where this craft is known, it's Avinurme. Everyone can learn the basics of weaving a basket in the workshop with the help of an instructor: you pick out chipwood, weave a berry basket from the chips and finally apply a finish. Avinurme Puiduait Arts & Crafts Store has the largest selection of wooden handicrafts in Estonia. Baskets, water buckets for sauna, hot pads, spatulas, butter knives, and thousands of other accessories for the kitchen and household. In addition to water buckets, there are ladles as well as foot- and headrests. In addition to local wood crafts, we sell Estonian natural cosmetics, as well as beautiful textiles and carpets. Estonian design and handicrafts can be found on our two floors. In addition to shopping, you can also order various workshops from us and have a bite to eat in our cafe.
